About this game

Everyone climbs into a gunny sack, grips the top, and hops the length of the course. Falling over is part of it — getting up quickly is the skill. A festival-ground staple that turns any open stretch of ground into a finish line.

How it works

• 1Open to everyone on the day — no advance sign-up needed
• 2Both feet must stay inside the sack for the whole course
• 3The top of the sack must be held with both hands
• 4If you fall, get up at the point you fell and continue
• 5First across the finish line wins the heat
• 6The judges' decision will be final
