Who can attend Startup Onam?

Startup Onam brings startup founders, employees, interns and their families together to celebrate Onam. Registration is per startup — one contact person registers everyone coming from the team. If you are unsure whether your organisation is covered, write to nasif@startupmission.in and the team will confirm.

What does it cost?

Rs 270 per person, which covers the Onam Sadhya. Everything else on the day — the games, competitions, cultural performances, networking and DJ night — is included at no extra cost.

How do I pay?

Pay Rs 270 x the number of participants by UPI to vishnuvasudev2212-2@okicici (UPI number 7994809676), then fill the registration form with the transaction reference and a screenshot of the payment. The screenshot is compulsory, and you can upload two if you paid in more than one transaction.

When does registration close?

The portal is open only till 19 August 2026. Register and complete payment on or before that date — plates are ordered against paid registrations, so late entries cannot be accommodated.

Do I need to register for the games?

No. All the games — vadamvali, kasera kali, sack race and the lemon and spoon race — are common events that run on the spot. Just turn up on the day; there is no team or name to submit in advance.

Which events do I register for, then?

Only the competitions: the Pookalam Competition, the Group Dance Competition and the Solo Singing Competition. Tick the ones your team is entering on the registration form.

What are the group dance rules?

Performance duration is strictly 5 to 8 minutes and exceeding the limit is not allowed. Any number of members can participate, but only teams with 4 to 14 members will be considered for the prize. One team per startup, or multiple startups entering as a single team — multiple teams from a single startup are not permitted.

What are the pookalam rules?

Teams of 3 to 6, maximum 6 feet, fresh flowers and leaves only, brought by the team. The outer surfaces must be rounded. Additional materials such as nirapara or nilavilakku are not permitted, black flowers or leaves are not allowed, and company emblems or logos will not be permitted.

Is the Onam Sadhya vegetarian?

Yes — a traditional Sadhya served on a banana leaf, fully vegetarian, with 24+ dishes and two varieties of payasam. Note anything the kitchen should know in the special requirements box when you register.

Who are the two startup representatives?

Each registering startup names two representatives on the form. Both must be present at the venue on the day — they are the people the committee will coordinate with.

What is the dress code?

Traditional and festive: mundu and white shirt for men, Kerala saree or set mundu for women, and any ethnic wear for visitors.

Where exactly is the venue?

Integrated Startup Complex, Kerala Startup Mission Campus, Kalamassery, Kochi. The event runs from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM on Friday, 21 August 2026.

Who do I contact for anything else?

Write to nasif@startupmission.in, or use the contact form on this site and the team will get back to you.
